BLIND BUT COMMITTED TO SERVING CHRIST IN HIS LOCALITY USING THE LHM EVANGELISM MATERIALS

BLIND BUT COMMITTED TO SERVING CHRIST IN HIS LOCALITY USING THE LHM EVANGELISM MATERIALS

Equipping The Saints workshops are integrated parts of LHM’s activities aiming not only at recruiting and training lay volunteers but also engaging them in evangelical activities in their respective localities.
The recent ETS workshop held at Ndikinemeki, a locality situated at 180 kms west of Yaoundé, following an invitation from Mr. Fabien, a Christian community leader in a nearby village. Mr. Fabien has been one of the most active volunteers of LHM-C ever since the Rev. Mounkiné Zacharie started working with LHM-C as a part time Audience Relations Manager.
Out of the blue the Coordination of the LHM-C discovered that the small Christian Congregation of at least 90 members was founded and run by our volunteer Fabien himself, a young, vigorous and intelligent blind man, blessed with various spiritual gifts from God. Fabien is the leader of the Congregation, in charge of delivering sermons to the Congregation every Sunday.
Aspirant Pastor Fabien offered to give a brief testimony of himself during the question-answer segment of the workshop: “I lost my sight at the age of 24, right after leaving the family house to stay with my grandmother, following several attempts by my father and brothers to enroll me in a secret cult association, Fabien told the participants in the workshop. The threats, he carried on, were so intense that I decided to quit the town and settle down with my grandmother here in the village”.
Once in the village with his grandmother, Fabien began giving his life to the Lord through daily prayers. He also became one of the most regular listeners of Evangelist Billy Graham’s teaching through radio programs. Years later, he founded a prayer Group for Protestant Christians in the village.
Asked on how he gets his sermons for Sunday services prepared, Fabien responded saying: “Usually I don’t write my Sunday service sermons. Through the inspiration of the Lord, I have been relying on the audio evangelical tape called ‘’Faith comes from Hearing’’ of the Cameroon Bible Society. Regarding the Sunday service Bible readings, he went on saying, verses are drawn from the Holy Bible and handed over to Mr. Bokagne Valerie, one of our Community elders, for reading”.
Apart from delivering sermons every Sunday, Fabien is also a very talented singer. He teaches songs of praise in his Congregation, still using audio materials.
Fabien has never been to school for blind, but his handicap has never stopped him from being committed to serving the Lord.
As a blind being committed to serving God, Fabien has future ambitions. One of his ambitions is to attend school for blind, but he is lacking necessary financial means.
At the end of the workshop, Fabien called on generous hearts for help to make his dreams come true one day.

Please, pray for Mr. Fabien’s ministry in his locality as he serves now as one of our many ETS trained volunteers spread all over Cameroon.
